This painting represents the way we perceive a place during a journey. Multiple sights overlapping and a narrative forming that becomes part of us.

The warm sienna, blush and sand tones represent the color palette of the granite, and the sage green represents the lichen that grows on the rocks. All flowing together into a feeling of being and existing in the moment. Grounding within nature.

I referenced one of my favorite places for this body of work : Enchanted Rock. A geological wonder immersed in the Texas Hill Country. Painting only from memory and capturing a recollection of place. One that changes based on perception and time.
